AUSTIN, Texas, July 2, 2003 - Motion Computing today announced that its M1300 Tablet PC has won a Best of Show award at Planet PDA Spring 2003, the latest in a string of awards for Motion's M-Series Tablet PCs.
Planet PDA is an annual conference and exhibition that focuses on how enterprise managers can incorporate the latest mobile devices into their computing infrastructure.
"Motion Computing is the winner of a Best of Show Award because its M1300 Tablet PC stands out for its superior performance and innovation," said Rich Tehrani, president of TMC and group editor-in-chief of Planet PDA¨. "Products like the M1300 give us a true indication of the promise and growth the ultramobile computing industry has to offer."
"Motion Computing is honored to be recognized as a Planet PDA Best of Show Award winner," said David Altounian, Motion Computing's chief product officer. "The M1300 Tablet PC features a variety of first-to-market technology advantages and, when combined with today's full-fledged software applications, delivers an uncompromised mobile computing experience."
Motion's nimble business model allows the company to rapidly transition products, giving customers the latest in technology. It was first to market with Intel¨ Centrinoª mobile technology in a Tablet PC, in both the 900 MHz and Intel's latest 1 GHz ultra-low-voltage Pentium M processor with Wi-Fi capabilities. With an industry-leading 12.1-inch display, which allows a full-size page view, the M1300's three-pound base configuration is compatible with all Motion M-Series accessories.
Motion's lightweight, ultramobile and durable slate design is similar in size to a spiral-bound notebook, making it ideal for pen-enabled computing in new ways and places, from hallways and subways to patient waiting rooms and living room couches. The design also avoids hinges and internal fans, two of the most fragile components of conventional notebooks and "convertible" Tablet PCs.
In addition to the Best of Show Award, Motion's Tablet PC has recently garnered CRN Magazine's Editor's Choice award, Government Computer News' Reviewer's Choice award, and Planet PDA Magazine's 2002 Product of the Year. Also Motion's Tablet PC has received a host of favorable reviews from such news outlets as Associated Press, PC Magazine, CNET, Field Force Automation, Pen Computing, Government Computer News, and Mobility Magazine.
