AUSTIN, Texas - October 13, 2003 - As part of its international expansion strategy, Motion Computing – the third-largest provider of slate tablet PCs in the U.S. and an innovator in ultramobile computing and wireless communications – today announced two major distribution agreements that make its award-winning offerings available in Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland.
Motion’s newest distribution partners are SunGate AG, a Swiss-based reseller with a large customer base in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and FGI Groupe, a leading French IT distributor with headquarters in Montpellier. The distribution agreement also applies to SunGate’s partners Wyscha Computer in Switzerland and Extra Computer in Germany.

With its innovative product design and agile business model, the company’s Intel-based tablet PCs – including the first in the industry to be powered by Centrino mobile technology – have exceeded sales targets in North America and the UK.

A typical Motion M1300 Tablet PC configuration from SunGate and FGI Groupe features a 1 GHz Centrino processor, 256 MB of memory, 20 GB hard drive, 12.1-inch display, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and integrated Wi-Fi capabilities. Available now, prices start at 2,180 Euros and 3,690 Swiss francs, respectively, excluding VAT.
Motion now offers its products in the U.S., Canada, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
