Every Motion® C5v and F5v Tablet PC comes preinstalled with a variety of 'must have' tablet applications for your system, featuring Motion Dashboard, Motion Dataguard, Microsoft® Windows® Journal, speech recognition, and many other tools. Carefully constructed to provide an ideal foundation upon which ISVs and Motion Solutions Providers can build custom images.

Windows® 7 Professional
Windows® 7 improves the Tablet PC with greater accuracy and speed for handwriting recognition, support for handwritten math expressions, personalized custom dictionaries for handwriting recognition, and more.

Tablet PC Features:

  • Improved Handwriting Recognition: Re-designed and improved so handwriting is coverted to text automatically as you write. New editing gestures and smart correction provide better accuracy and efficiency for handwriting input. Personalized custom dictionaries help with the recognition of specialized vocabulary.
  • Handwritten Math Expressions: The Math Input Panel is a new accessory that automatically recognizes handwritten math expressions.
  • Text Prediction for Keyboard: On-screen keyboard in Windows 7 has a new look, and now includes personalized word and nextword prediction. Just type a few letters and you’ll be offered a list of words that match. Based on the words you use frequently and the corrections that you make, Windows 7 will become even better at predicting what you type over time.
  • Support for Additional Languages: Windows 7 supports handwriting recognition for Tablet PCs in 12 languages: English (U.S.), English (U.K.), German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese (Brazil), Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Japanese, and Korean.
  • Better Speech Recognition: Improved accuracy of Windows Speech Recognition so that you can dictate to your Tablet PC in many common programs and tell it what to do or input text content.

Windows Journal
Windows Journal turns your Motion Tablet PC into a digital writing pad. You can unobtrusively take notes on your tablet in meetings or in a variety of locations. You no longer have to take notes on paper and then enter them into your computer later.
Speech Recognition
Use your voice instead of a mouse, keyboard, or pen to control Microsoft Windows-based applications. You can also use your voice to dictate text directly into applications.
WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment)
Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) is an extensible recovery platform based on Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE). WinRE provides a platform for image recovery. To facilitate restoring a computer to its factory state, a recovery image can be placed on the Windows RE partition. This eliminates the need for a separate recovery media. When the computer fails to start, Windows automatically fails over into this environment, and the Startup Repair tool in Windows RE automates the diagnosis and repair of an unbootable Windows Vista® installation. Furthermore, Windows RE is a starting point for various tools for manual system recovery. It can help reduce support costs by up to 80 percent through automatic repair of common root causes of unbootable operating system installations.
